I know pugs were once bred into a line of other dogs to create the French Bulldog, and I don’t like pugs at all but, HOW CAN I NOT LOVE FRENCH BULLDOGS. 

Actually you don’t have to feel bad at all, pugs came from China and have nothing to do with the bloodlines of French Bulldogs, which are true Bulldogs - The Modern day French Bulldog actually descends directly from lines dating back to Ancient Greece. You may find Frenchies with pug stock sprinkled in, but a true French Bulldog will not have any.
